What does it cost to start?
$1 to activate your phone number + a $50 wallet top-up = $51 at signup. The $39/month platform fee is waived for your first 30 days. The $50 covers per-call and SMS usage as your AI handles them. Most pilots run for 2–3 weeks on that first top-up.
Is it really free for the first month?
The $39/month platform fee is waived for your first 30 days. You still pay $1 to activate your number and per-call usage from day 1. After 30 days, the $39/month platform fee kicks in.
How does the 30-day platform-fee waiver work?
For your first 30 days, you don't pay the $39/month platform fee. You only pay for the calls and SMS your AI handles, plus $1 to activate your first phone number. Starting day 31, the $39/month platform fee kicks in. You'll get an email reminder a week before your first $39 charge.
What does plug-and-play actually mean?
Pick your industry at signup. Your AI is auto-configured with the right voice, qualifying questions, emergency keywords, after-hours behavior, and 14-day follow-up sequences for that trade. No engineer needed. Setup takes under 5 minutes.
How long does setup really take?
About five minutes. Sign up, paste your website URL, pick a phone number, forward your line. The longest part is the carrier-side call forwarding step — usually under a minute.
Do I need to change my phone number?
No. Keep your existing number. Forward calls to your new OnCall number when you can't answer. We have one-page guides for every major US/Canadian carrier.
What if I already have an answering service?
Run them in parallel for a week. Compare lead capture rates and call recordings. Most customers cancel the answering service inside two weeks — and save several hundred dollars a month.

How OnCall works
Will the AI actually sound human?
Yes. Eva uses a natural-sounding voice and conversational LLM responses. Most callers don't realize they're talking to an AI unless told. If asked directly, Eva is honest about being an AI — that's a hard rule for compliance.
What if Eva doesn't know the answer?
She says so honestly, captures the lead, and texts you to call back. She'll never make something up. You can edit her knowledge base any time.
Can I customize what the AI says?
Every part of the script. Greeting, qualifying questions, voicemail message, after-hours behavior, persona name, voice. Edit in the dashboard — changes go live in seconds.
What languages does it support?
English at launch. Spanish is on the near-term roadmap. French, Mandarin, and Hindi after that.
How does the booking integration work?
Eva calls your calendar API in real time. Google Calendar and Calendly are live; ServiceTitan and HouseCallPro are on the roadmap. Eva offers actual open slots — no double-booking.
What happens if the AI mishandles a call?
Every call is recorded and transcribed in your dashboard. You get a real-time alert if the AI flags a call as low-confidence or needs escalation. You can pause the AI with one click anytime. Most edge cases are fixed in under 60 seconds — usually one keyword update in your knowledge base — and the AI doesn't repeat that mistake.
Pricing & billing
How does pay-as-you-go pricing work?
You top up your wallet (minimum $50). Your AI charges from that wallet only when it actually answers a call ($0.24/min inbound, rounded up to the nearest minute), makes a call ($0.30/min outbound, rounded up), or sends an SMS ($0.03/msg). Failed calls under 1 second aren't billed. When your wallet runs low, you get an email reminder to top up. Auto-recharge is optional. Most pilots spend $50–200/month in usage.
Why are calls rounded up to the next minute?
Each call has fixed costs (voice synthesis, transcription, phone routing) that we cover regardless of length. Rounding up is industry-standard — Twilio, RingCentral, and traditional answering services all bill this way. A 5-second call costs the same as a 60-second call: 1 minute at the per-minute rate.
Why is the first phone number $1?
We charge $1 to activate your first number for two reasons: (1) it ensures we have a valid card on file for your usage charges, and (2) Twilio bills us for each number we provision. Starting your second month, the number is $10/month — the standard rate for additional numbers too.
Why pay-as-you-go instead of a flat subscription?
Service businesses have wildly variable call volume. A flat $200/mo plan is a bad deal in slow months and a great deal in busy months — and you find out which after you sign up. Pay-as-you-go means you pay your real cost.
What does a typical month cost?
Solo HVAC owner with 200 inbound + 100 outbound calls/mo (~3 min avg): ~$289/mo (month 2+). Dental practice with 300 inbound + 50 outbound (~2 min avg): ~$232/mo. Roofing company with 50 inbound + 500 outbound + 1,000 SMS: ~$565/mo. Month 1 swaps the $39 platform fee for $0 and the $10 number for $1.
What happens if my wallet runs empty mid-call?
Your AI completes the call. The wallet shows red, you get an email, and you top up. Calls don't get cut off — but a low wallet pauses new outbound campaigns until you reload.
Can I get a refund?
Wallet balance is refundable if we initiate cancellation. Otherwise unused balance stays in your account while it's active. Email hello@castglobe.com.
Is there a long-term contract?
No. Cancel anytime. Pay only for what you used.
Compliance & legal
Is the AI compliant with phone regulations?
Yes. Eva discloses she's an AI when asked. Outbound calls respect TCPA hours and DNC lists. Recording disclosure runs at call start where required.
Are calls recorded? Where are recordings stored?
Calls are recorded by default; you can disable per number. Recordings are stored in encrypted cloud storage. Retention is configurable (default 90 days).
TCPA compliance for outbound calls?
Outbound respects TCPA call-time windows by recipient time zone, scrubs against your DNC list, and stops on first "stop calling me." We don't make robocalls — every dial is on demand.
Can I delete my data?
Yes. Email hello@castglobe.com — we delete your account, recordings, transcripts, and lead data within 30 days.
HIPAA / PIPEDA?
For dental and med-spa customers, OnCall is configured to be HIPAA-compatible. BAA available on request. PIPEDA-compatible by default for Canadian customers.
Technical
What CRMs do you integrate with?
OnCall Sync delivers events to HubSpot, GoHighLevel, Pipedrive, Salesforce, Zapier, Make.com, or any custom webhook. HMAC-signed delivery, retry queue, full delivery log. See /sync for details.
Can I export my call data?
Yes — CSV export for calls, leads, and SMS conversations. Real-time webhook on every call event via OnCall Sync.
What happens during outages?
Calls roll to your fallback number (configurable per number). We have multi-region redundancy on the call infrastructure. Status page at status.castglobe.com.
Can multiple users access the dashboard?
Yes. Add team members with role-based permissions. No per-seat fee.
Industry-specific
I'm an HVAC company. Will this work for emergency calls?
Yes — emergency detection is built in. Eva listens for "no heat", "gas smell", "carbon monoxide", and your custom keywords. When detected, she captures location and (if configured) live-transfers to your on-call tech.
I'm a dentist. Will it handle insurance questions?
Eva says which carriers you accept (you preload this) and books visits. Complex coverage questions transfer to the front desk. HIPAA-compatible BAA available.
I'm a roofer. Can it route calls to different team members?
Yes. Map keywords (e.g., "insurance claim") to specific transfer numbers. Or route by zip code, by call type, by time of day.
